Booq Fibre Snapcase For iPhone 5.

Booq’s new Fibre Snapcase is yet another shell-style iPhone 5 case, but this one at least has the distinction of using the neat linen-y material also found in Booq’s excellent Mamba device bags. I kind of like the look of it, but I wish that it had gone little further.

Some time ago Booq sent me a case for the MacBook Air made out of the same stiffly rigid material. It was great, but I never reviewed it because I didn’t have a MacBook Air (I gave it to a friend). I liked it because it added a soft-but rigid shell to the computer, and closed using magnets (frikkin’ magnets!)

The new Booq case for the iPhone uses a standard polycarbonate shell and just adds a linen-textured panel on the back for decorative purposes.

Do you want one still? There’s a review unit on it’s way, but if you can’t wait until then you can grab one for $30, in a range of muted, countryside colors.

‘The Dock Minimal’ Stand for iPad, Kindle, and Nexus Tablets.

Hong Kong-based onandoff announced a cool stand for iPad called The Dock Minimal. This device offers a small footprint and can hold your iPad (or other tablet) in 20 different positions. The image below shows the device from the front and back, but if you click through to the company’s website, you’ll find images of the device being used horizontally, too. The device includes a pass-through for your dock cable, too. It works with all iPads, iPad Mini, Kindle, Samsung and Nexus tablets/e-book readers, and it’s priced at $39.95.

Though I may be a fan of iPhone cases, I’m seriously turned-off by cases that make the device overly thick. So when I was on the hunt for a new case, I wanted to find a simple, snap-on-the-back style case that features an interesting design. So when I came across the Incipio Feather for iPhone 5, I knew I had to have it.

The Incipio Feather features a simple, snap-on-the-back style design. This means that the case features no removable parts and attaches to your iPhone by being snapped on. Because of this, the Incipio Feather only protects the back and left and right side of your iPhone. This leaves the top and bottom exposed and doesn’t offer any lip on the front of the device for protection against drops on its screen. However, the Feather protects the rear of the device from scratching and any types of minor bumps and scrapes you may encounter during your day. Since this is such a minimal design, your iPhone will have very little added bulk when sporting the Feather.

AT&T Announces Enhanced Push-to-Talk Service for iPhone Business Customers.

AT&T’s announcement that its Enhanced Push-to-Talk service is now available to business customers through a new app for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S. AT&T is the first U.S. carrier to offer this walkie-talkie- type of communication on the iPhone.

With Enhanced Push-to-Talk capability, iPhone business customers won’t have to dial a number to call someone, and instead can push a button on the iPhone to broadcast a voice message to a group of people. The feature can be used over Wi-Fi, which gives U.S. customers more in-building coverage and access to the service through compatible networks and the company said it operates using the U.S.’s largest Wi-Fi network, which includes more than 32,000 AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots.

AT&T claims that its push-to-talk service will support up to 250 people.

Features of AT&T’s Enhanced Push-to-Talk for iPhone include:

Larger contact lists and talk groups than competitive push-to-talk solutions
Ability to combine push-to-talk services and mobile applications, with help available from AT&T’s team of mobility consulting and integration experts
Supervisory override that allows supervisors to communicate important time sensitive messages to their team
Call setup in less than one second

iOS 7 Not The Only One To Get Auto App Updates, OS X Mavericks Will Too.

Apple introduced a lot of new stuff for iOS 7, including a nifty auto app update option so that all of your apps will automatically update themselves when it’s time, but it looks like this feature isn’t exclusive to just iOS. OS X Mavericks, Apple’s newest operating system for the Mac, will also sport this feature as an option.

In Mavericks OS, there’s a new pane in System Preferences that has been added that concerns App Store update settings and it comes with the option to have your apps automatically update themselves in the background when a new update becomes available.

There are some other options as well, including switching auto-check for updates on or off and telling Mavericks to download new updates or just install them right away. There’s also an option to install system data files and security updates.

You can also check off the little box that will automatically download apps that you’ve purchased on other Macs, like with iOS. This is a great feature so that you can fill your iMac with all your apps, but only have a select few downloaded on your MacBook Air so apps don’t take up all the space.

When you start using Mavericks, the option to turn on auto app updates will pop up when you make the first update the app.
