The iPhone 6s Retro Edition is for classic Mac lovers

Talk about robbing the cradle.

Apple’s long since abandoned the beige plastic cases and rainbow-hued logos that were synonymous with the brand’s aesthetic during the ’80s. But if your favorite Apple design is still the Apple IIe, here’s the iPhone for you: the Colorware iPhone 6s Retro edition.

The Colorware iPhone 6s Retro gives the latest iPhone models a custom vintage makeover based on the Apple IIe. Although the actual design and innards of the smartphone are the same, the iPhone 6S Retro (and its big brother, the iPhone 6s Plus Retro) bakes a throwback beige color into the aluminum, and even adds some faux air vents like on Apple’s old computers. The logo, too, has been updated with the rainbow Apple logo of yore.

It’s been a long time since we’ve written about Colorware, but we used to write about them all the time. Colorware is a Minnesota-based company that specializes in giving your gadgets slick custom colors, albeit at a premium price. Re-anodizing aluminum in different colors ain’t cheap!
